depends. The Explosive Skating Schools would not be appropriate
for a beginning hockey player who is, for the first time, learning to
skate. However, if the player knows how to skate but is an extremely
poor skater, we are, generally, able to place the skater in a group
that suits their skating ability. I am a firm believer in the late development
of hockey players and I have seen it happen over and over again at our
schools. Consequently, I would not want to restrict our skating programs
to elite hockey players only. To the extent possible, players are placed
in groups which reflect their age and level of hockey, but because we
are teaching primarily individual skills, as opposed to team concepts,
players are able to work at the highest level of their ability without
compromising the development of the other players on the ice who may
be at a slightly different skill level. |
